She hopes to return to Washington later this month.
Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, age 89, has been hospitalized in San Francisco where she is receiving treatment for shingles. She released a statement saying, “I was diagnosed over the February recess with a case of shingles. I have been hospitalized and receiving treatment in San Francisco and expect to make a full recovery. I hope to return to the Senate later this month.”
Senator Feinstein, who earlier reported she is struggling with memory loss, said she will not seek re-election in 2024, but will serve out her term.
About one in three Americans get shingles at some point. It comes from the same virus that causes chickenpox that reactivates long after a person has recovered. Symptoms, including rashes that itch and burn can be quite painful.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Senator Feinstein as she receives treatment for shingles to experience a complete recovery.
- For other members of Congress who have recently been hospitalized for various health matters, including depression and cancer surgeries.
